To Ski!! So I dont know if any of you know or not, but I am skiing with the Junior Nordic Comp ski group and I love it. Its called the Junior Nordic Comp group 'cause we Compete more than most teams. There is almost always at least one race a week, sometimes 2 or 3. I've been in two races so far. One was a relay race, the other was a classical sprint race. You may not know (im only saying this 'cause I didn't know my self till this year) there more than one kind of Cross country skiing... there is whats called skate skiing, you practically just skate on skies with poles instead of a hockey stick.(Which felt kinda awkward at first) but you can go really really fast if you know how to do it, which I didn't when I first started this year. And this group is like the advanced group for my age group. There is another group that teaches you the basics and stuff but they don't race very much. So I did this group and the first day I got up there (to birch hill rec area) and all these little kids like 3 and 4 graders were like zipping all around and stuff. and when I finally got my skies on I get out there and I'm like just walking along trying to keep my balance! So we kinda learned how to skate ski that day. We had another day that week were we did the same thing, but the next week we had to start all over and learn classic... Well any ways back to the races. I've been in two a blah blah blah. yeah so the relay race my team got 6 of 7 junior high boy teams. and then in the classic sprint I got 6 out of 7 junior high boys. Or at least they were supposed to be they sure didn't look like it. Well any ways I'm gonna be in a big race sometime in January or February or March cant remember when?
